World’s First Multi Touch Mouse Comes From Apple

There’s no wonder that the world’s most advanced computer mouse, when it comes to computer operation, not necessarily gaming, comes from the developer of the world’s thinnest laptop and the world’s most advanced mobile phone.
The multi-touch feature introduced by the Apple iPhone is now available in the new Magic Mouse announced yesterday as the first mouse supporting multiple finger input and gestures.

The mouse works wirelessly and, as it supports the Multi-Touch technology, doesn’t have buttons and scroll wheel. Everything is based on finger gestures on the entire mouse’ surface.
Even if it’s an amazing gadget, it was introduced at a price of $69 and will be available for purchase at the Apple Store by the end of this month, requiring Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.8 operating system version, or later.

Using gestures and both hands you can scroll through pages, swipe for moving forward or backward, while having the possibility to set it as a multi-button mouse instead of a gestures-based one. This setting can be done via the System Preferences.
The wireless connectivity to the computer is made via Bluetooth within a 10-meter range. The advanced power management system increases battery life, allowing you to switch between high-power and low-power modes. It uses two AA batteries to function and the laser engine technology for surface tracking.
