Windows 7 will RTM on 6th of August

It`s official: the RTM version of Windows 7 will be available on August 6. Brandon LeBlanc conformed that on “The Windows Blog” the availability of Windows 7 starting August 6th. Also he confirmed the availability of the family pack of Windows 7 Home Premium which will allow installation on up to 3 PCs.

Windows 7 RTM will be available in the following fazes:

For Partners and OEM’s

ISV and IHV Partners will be able to download Windows 7 RTM from Microsoft Connect or MSDN starting August 6th. On August 16th Windows 7 RTM will be available for Microsoft Partner Program Gold/Certified Members through the Microsoft Partner Network (MPN) Portal. After one week Microsoft Action Pack Subscribers will be able to download it. On August 8th the OEM’s will receive their software images.

For Business Customers

Starting August 7th Windows 7 RTM will be available via the Volume License Service Center (VLSC) for Volume License customers with an existing Software Assurance license.

For IT Professionals

The customers with TechNet Subscriptions will be able to download Windows 7 RTM on August 6th only in English and the rest of the languages will be available on October 1st

For Developers

The developers will be able to download Windows 7 RTM on August 6th.

For Consumers

Windows 7 will be available in stores on October 22th even if you pre-ordered your copy of Windows .
