The new version of Apple’s iPod nano announced yesterday brings several new features that keep it on the top position in the portable media player industry.
It now comes equipped with built-in video camera, microphone and speaker to allow you do more with it, such as shoot videos while on the go with sound and listen to your favorite music together with friends and family.
You can access the video camera settings by scrolling through the menu and then set it to the portrait or landscape mode. It can playback the videos your recorded with sound and provides special effects like film grain and motion blur that you can apply on the videos before shooting.
Apple also took care of the design enhancements of the player, adding a nice anodized aluminum finish in nine eye-catching colors surrounding the 2.2-inch large display.
Genius Mixes is another new capability added to the new iPod nano and via iTunes 9, which matches songs to create mixes automatically.
The new built-in FM tuner with Live Pulse and iTunes Tagging show the names of the artists and songs, while allowing you to pause and resume the listening, or rewind 15 minutes back then fast-forward to the live broadcast, plus that you have the possibility to tag the songs you like on the radio and preview them later on iTunes.
VoiceOver speaks the names of the artists and songs without requiring you to look at the display, while the Pedometer and Nike + iPod count your steps while walking on the street. You can also take voice memos via the microphone.
The new iPod nano is available for purchase in 8GB and 16 GB capacities for $149 and $179 respectively.
