Undead Labs Announces Upcoming Zombie MMOG

If you like video games with lots of zombies and blood you’ll probably enjoy playing the upcoming title from Undead Labs. Even if its name is not known yet, the developers promised a very entertaining game involving flesh-eating dead people who invade Seattle.
The mysterious game is a massively multiplayer online zombie game, or MMOZ, like Undead Labs like to call it, packing both action and humor and is being developed in Seattle by a team led by Jeff Strain. You will be able to play it on consoles in the near future.

Undead Labs didn’t publish screenshots or other description of the game, but here are the words of Jeff Strain:

“Every time I see a good zombie movie with friends, we spend days debating our strategies for surviving the zombie apocalypse. The police station, or the supermarket? Garden rake, or staple gun? Bach, or the White Stripes? I’m a game developer, so I’d probably be useless for anything other than ghoul bait, but I’m excited to have the opportunity to build an MMOZ that lets us put those strategies to the test and find out for sure.”

Aion Pre-orders Start July 13

Aion is a new video game developed for PCs, promoted as the most detailed and beautiful MMORPG ever created. It grabs you into a surrealistic world involved in a celestial war, where you have to choose between Asmodians and Elyos divine factions to save the world from an ancient evil.

Features of the game include fights in the skies, detailed landscapes hiding ancient secrets and mysterious enemies, engaging quests, complex battles involving combos, counter-attacks, skill chains and aerial fights, as well as the possibility to customize your character in detail, access to hundreds of weapons and abilities via the flexible crafting system, a mix of Pvp and PvE gameplay in a new style, outstanding graphics powered by the Crytek engine, and the possibility for Australians and gamers from New Zealand to play on North American Aion servers.

Recommended system configuration for the PC game includes Microsoft Windows XP SP2 or Vista, Dual Core CPU 2.0GHz, 2GB RAM, NVIDIA 6800 with 256MB RAM or ATI Radeon x800 with 256MB, 15GB hard disk space, DVD-ROM drive, DirectX 9.0c (6/2008 update) and broadband Internet connection.

The RP-rated video game will be available for pre-orders starting July 13 and if you’ll be one of the first people who’ll reserve a copy you’ll get access to different privileges, such as character and server pre-selection.
IGN mentions the exclusive Black Cloud Hat and Lodas’ Amulet, and one Ancient Rings of Power. More than that, the Collector’s Edition will bring the ancient Ring of Fire, while the Limited Edition will come with the Ring of Magic.

Aion Australia announced the release date for the new video game on June 25, while NC Soft, the large publisher and developer of massively multiplayer online games, will bring it out in Australia on September 23.

Minimum PC Requirements for Wolfenstein

Among the upcoming video games prepared for release by this year’s winter holidays is the PC version of the highly expected Wolfenstein, a first person shooter with science fiction action, developed by Raven Software to follow Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

The game will appear in August working with the id Tech 4 engine developed by id Software and introduced by Doom 3. The advanced engine brings lots of new enhancements including dynamic per-pixel lighting, specular highlighting, normal mapping and bump mapping.

I’m sure you already know the plot in Wolfenstein, but let me add a few things about this sequel.
In 1943, during the Second World War, when Hitler focuses on global domination you play as B.J. Blazkowicz, a decorated member of the Office of Secret Actions. You have to find evidence of a mysterious power possessed by the Nazi, but you soon discover that they are actually using the dark power of a parallel dimension called The Veil.

Wolfenstein will be available for all gaming platforms including Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and personal computers running on Windows or Linux operating systems.

Peter Sokal, community manager at the game’s forums, announced the minimum PC requirements that you should check and see if your computer meets before running the game.
Software requirements include Microsoft Windows XP or Windows Vista, and Microsoft DirectX 9.0c, while the minimum hardware requirements are:

- Intel Pentium 4 3.2 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 3400+
-1GB of RAM memory
-NVIDIA Geforce 6800 GT of 256MB memory or an ATI Radeon X800
-a 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card
-8GB of free disk space plus 800MB for the Windows swap file
-100% Microsoft Windows compatible DVD-ROM drive
-high-speed broadband Internet connectivity for the multi-player mode

NFS Shift Unofficial System Requirements

There is an unofficial source that published the system requirements for the PC version of the highly expected video game NFS Shift.
According to NFS-Planet, the upcoming video game that will be released by Electronic Arts within about three months runs on a computer running on Windows XP Service Pack 3 or Windows Vista operating system with Service Pack 1, and requires 1GB of RAM memory for Windows XP and 2GB on Windows Vista, while the processor needs to be an Intel Pentium 4 of 3.2GHz speeds for XP or 3.4GHz for Vista. Additionally you’ll need to have 10GB of free disk space, 256MB graphic memory with Pixel Shader 3, DirectX 9.0c support, an 8x DVD drive, and broadband-enabled network card for online gaming.

These are the minimum system requirements for the video game to run properly, but if you want to get the best out of the graphics you need to provide it with an Intel Core 2 Duo of 2.5GHz or AMD 64 X2 of 2.0 GHz processing speeds, 2GB-3GB of RAM memory, 512MB graphics memory with Pixel Shader 3, plus the other elements specified as the minimum requirements.

EA will release Need For Speed Shift this fall for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, PlayStation Portable and mobile handsets with gaming support.

BioShock & The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Expected on July 7

According to the latest news from the gaming sector, Bethesda Softworks and 2K Games, two publishers that have been played an important role on the gaming scene in the last years, have announced their partnership in producing the BioShock & The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Bundle.

Gamers will be able to run it on their Xbox 360 console or on the personal computer starting July 7, which is the exact date the two companies have announced for the launch.
The bundle will come in North America at a price of $39.99 for Xbox 360,and $29.99 for the PC version.

Some might be surprised of the fact that the upcoming bundle brings only the original Oblivion video game release, without including expansions, which means you’d have to obtain the additional content, such as Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine, from Bethesda. Fortunately, this is not the case of BioShock, as there was no expansion released until this moment.

The titles involved in the BioShock & The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Bundle have gathered no less than 80 Game of the Year awards.
