For people who have suffered brain injuries or strokes, Lingraphica launched a new pocketable device that allows them to communicate with image icons that speak in the human voice. Users have the possibility to practice with different language exercises and entertaining videos.

SmallTalk generates speech phrases through images and can be used in any restaurant, during phone calls, and in emergency situations.
While in crowded places the user can wear earphones and keep the audio for himself/herself, without catching the attention of others around.
The device was developed by the team of developers at Lingraphica and especially designed for people suffering from aphasia.
According to the company’s press release the portable device was built on iPod touch, but anyone can purchase and use it together with Lingraphica.

SmallTalk features a user-friendly interface with configurable user levels, options for resizing and removing icons, personalization tools for creating personal pages, words or icons, as well as built-in still and video cameras, a patient evaluation tool, hundreds of therapy exercises, pronunciation video descriptive menus, exercises, support for the Spanish language, and a training video that teaches the user how to use the device.
It measures 1.08 x 12.78 x 8.92 inches at 5.1 pounds and features a 13.3-inch widescreen display, a 2.1 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 120GB SATA HDD, Wi-Fi module, stereo speakers, an omnidirectional microphone, a 24x slot-loading combo drive, and a Kensington cable lock slot.
