Sharp announces AQUOS LED-backlit HDTVs

Watching TV will soon become a extraordinary experience with the launching of Sharp’s new range of AQUOS LED-backlit LCD TVs, part of the LE700 series. The 32” (LC-32LE700UN), 40” (LC-40E700UN), 46” (LC-46LE700UN), 52” (LC-52LE700UN)  sets are using Sharp’s X-Gen LCD panel with 10-bit processing and offering a contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1. The response time for these Full HD 1080p LCDs is 4ms, having a refresh rate of 120Hz.

“Sharp demonstrated the unlimited possibilities of LCD, bringing the first LED back-lit AQUOS LCD TV to market last year, and we continue to advance the category today,” said Bob Scaglione, senior vice president and group manager, Product and Marketing Group, Sharp Electronics Corporation. “With the introduction of the AQUOS LED series, we are bringing consumers an affordable display solution with superior picture and environmental performance that provides a true value. Sharp is able to deliver a price-competitive yet high-performance product by producing many of the key components of the TV, including the LED components and the LCD panel.”

Your connectivity options are comprised of four HDMI ports, two component video inputs, built-in ATSC, QAM and NTSC tuners. If you’ll ever what your LCD to act as a PC monitor the PC input makes that possible. The Sharp LCD will become the center of entertainment because of the USB ports that you can use to play your MP3s or look at your vacation pictures in full HD but also because of AQUOS Net. AQUOS Net is an internet-based service that will give you access to personalized information. You will be able to check the weather forecast, the stock quotes and other useful facts.

If you live in the US, you will be able to get your hand on one of the four HDTVs this month. The prices range from $1,099.99, the 32” one, to $2,799.99, the 52” one.
