The latest cell phone introduced by AT&T for its US customers is Samsung Solstice, a handset with an ear-catching name, designed to provide users with direct access to social networking sites and favorite applications.
Samsung Solstice was made available for purchase yesterday and new owners will have the possibility to benefit from various communication features such as messaging via Mobile Email and Instant Messaging, multimedia applications and easy access to social sites, all done fast via AT&T’s mobile broadband network.
It features a 3-inch touchscreen display, Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface with direct access to frequently used applications, Facebook, MySpace and Yahoo! oneSearch widgets, a virtual QWERTY keyboard, and AT&T-enabled services such as AT&T Navigator, AT&T Mobile Music with Napster Mobile and eMusic Mobile.
In addition it has quad-band support, a built-in 2MP digital camera with camcorder functionality, an accelerometer sensor for portrait/landscape modes, motion sensing games and picture scrolling by tilting the handset, as well as MP3 player capability, video and audio streaming, pre-installed games, Bluetooth wireless connectivity, microSD card slot for up to 16GB of external memory, and many others.
Samsung Solstice is available for purchase for a price of $99.99 with a 2-year service agreement and a $50 mail-in rebate.
