Two days ago, Sprint introduced the Motorola Clutch i465 mobile handset for its customers and paired it with its custom plans to offer an affordable device with wireless connectivity.
The new Clutch is not an ordinary handset, but a rugged model that meets the Military Specification 810F for high and low temperatures, low pressure, shock, dust, solar radiation and vibration, while sporting a candybar design, as well as a full-sized QWERTY keyboard for texting on the go.
One of the unique capabilities of the cell phone is Group Messaging, a feature that allows you to create groups of up to 20 users and send them messages simultaneously. Other technologies include push-to-talk, Java support, built-in digital camera with 4x zoom and video recording, GPS support, Bluetooth wireless connectivity, a 128 x 160-pixel display of 65K colors and third-party apps.
The handset measures 4.45 x 2.15 x 0.61 inches at 3.47 ounces and provides up to 205 minutes of continuous talk time.
You’ll be able to get one later this summer for a price of $39.99, together with a new 2-year agreement from Sprint, plus a $20 instant rebate and a $50 mail-in rebate.
Nextel Direct Connect Custom Plans for businesses include Unlimited Workgroup Communications for $29.99 per month, Web & Navigation starting at $39.99, while you may add pool voice minutes starting at $30 per month.
