The Resident Evil 4 mobile video game created for iPhone and iPod touch is based on the MascotCapsule eruption 3D rendering engine from HI. The announcement was made by Kazuo Kawabata, President and CEO at HI.
The engine supports the OpenGL ES and features higher-speed rendering capabilities using the 3D graphics accelerators in iPhone and iPod touch. This technology provides more realistic and sensitive 3D imaging than other mobile games available on the market today.
Built on the MascotCapsule V3 it allows game and content developers to use their special knowledge without requiring learning new methods. They can benefit from new high-performance 3D hardware accelerators to enable higher speeds and to create more detailed expression at higher frame rates.
For those of you who don’t know the story yet, the Resident Evil 4 mobile game places the action six years after the destruction of Raccoon City. The President’s daughter is kidnapped and Leon S. Kennedy, formerly cop at the Raccoon City Police Department, now an US agent, has to rescue her, investigating the mysterious organization that planed the kidnapping. He goes to an European village where people pledge their lives to a cult called Los Iluuminados, which is behind the kidnapping.
Key features of the game include 3D person shooter style action, panoramic widescreen views, high shooting precision, the upgrading weapon system based on in-game money, and two modes – the Scenario Mode and the Mercenary Mode.
