PC-BSD 7.1.1 Available for Download

PC-BSD is an UNIX-based free operating system with modern user interface, designed for users who spend time on their computer mostly for watching videos, listening to the music, and working with documents. It is built on the FreeBSD 7.x and brings 3D desktop effects, an easy-to-use graphical system installer, multi-language support, improved security, self-installing software, the Online Update Manager, and professional support via email and phone.

Today, the developers team announced the release of a new version of the desktop operating system.
If you are using the previous version and you want to upgrade to PC-BSD 7.1.1, you can do it by choosing the upgrade/repair option during the installation.
In addition to several bug fixes, the latest version comes with KDE 4.2.4, Nvidia driver 185.14, improved stability with Intel graphic cards, Wine 1.1.24, improved System Updater Tray, support for lower/higher priority to Wi-Fi connections, option to ignore updates, improved KDE4 default theme, and improved KSplash Theme.

In order to run the PC-BSD 7.1.1, your computer has to meet at least the following system requirements: Pentium II or higher processor, 256MB RAM, 10GB of free disk space, network card and sound card. Recommended system requirements include having a Pentium 4 or better CPU, 512MB of RAM, 20GB of free disk space, network and sound cards, as well as a 3D-enabled video card.

You can get PC-BSD 7.1.1 as a download for i386- or amd64-based computers, or purchase it from the The FreeBSD Mall for a price of $29.95.
