Parrot Rki8400 is a new car stereo supporting iPhone and iPod connectivity, which was introduced at the SEMA 2009 show and will be available forthe US customers.
The in-car stereo system enables wireless Bluetooth-based communication featuring FM/AM radio with RDS and coming with a special compartment for storing and recharging the iPod or iPhone.
Licensed as Made for iPod and Works with iPhone by Apple, Parrot Rki8400 allows drivers to listen to the music played by their mobile handset, while keeping an eye on the road.
Features include dual microphones for voice recognition, a color display on which the user can see album covers, a large dial, and a smart system that switches to the handsfree mode whenever someone is calling.
The built-in radio functionality also supports voice recognition, featuring speech synthesis automatic synchronization for the phone book in the phone as it’s connected to the radio.
There is also an USB port that allows drivers connect external hard drives, or USB flash drive, the SD card reader, as well as a socket for different analog sources.
In addition to a 200-Watt amplifier and support for all Bluetooth-enabled cell phones, the car stereo system supports software updates provided by Parrot on its official web site, or as a download for USB flash memory sticks.
