openSUSE 11.2 Milestone 3 Released

As those of you who are using Linux-based operating system already know, openSUSE is an open-source project powered by Novell and promoted as the world’s easiest-to-use Linux distribution for both beginner-level and advanced Linux users.
Yesterday, the developers announced the release of the openSUSE 11.2 Milestone 3, which is available for download and testing.
It comes with several major changes including the Linux kernel 2.6.30, GNOME 2.27.2, KDE 4.3 beta 2, PulseAudio 0.9.15, Konversation 1.2 Alpha 3, VirtualBox 2.2.4, Wine 1.1.23 and the OpenOffice.org 3.1.1 Alpha.

Visual enhancements are encountered in the KDE and include the desktop greeter, plasmoids, the integration of the PolicyKit, a new Interactive Globe Wallpaper, and the KDE 3.5-like configuration.
In GNOME 2.28 you will find the new openSUSE theme, while there are several improvements found in the partition interface. There’s also the GUI option for keeping packages and the configurable YaST-Qt view layout.

To check all of these changes for yourself you can download the latest Milestone Release from the official openSUSE website, by choosing either the x86 or x86-64 DVD versions, and the KDE and GNOME Live CDs.

The first Milestone Release of openSUSE 11.2 was released back in April and, until the final release of the popular operating system, they will make available other 5 Milestone Releases by the end of September, and introduce the Release Candidate 1 and 2 in October.
