The beta release of Nokia Messaging brings profile status updates and other social networking features right on the Nokia cell phone screen. Users of Nokia N97 and Nokia 6700 Classic have now the possibility to check the new application from Nokia, which promises to support more devices in the near future.
Through this fun application meant to enhance the communication experience in the mobile world, users can enter posts to leave comments from the contextual home screen widget. In addition, they can publish their pictures and notes directly from the camera or photo gallery. Via Ovi Maps they can see locations of friends, as well as share their current location with others, in a simple message or post.
Besides these key features of the new Nokia Messaging available for download at the Nokia Beta Labs, the application will start charging users who need to surf the web, send emails and chat with the others, but who want to rely on a single fixed price. It will become the next-generation multi-community social networking client.
Currently, you can use it only with the N97 firmware version 12.X.024 or higher and on the Nokia 6700 Classic. The announcement at the Nokia Beta Labs site specifies that Nokia Messaging is not yet working properly on other handsets than the ones mentioned.
