Babylon announced a new version of its Babylon for Mac dictionary and translation software, coming with new improvements over the first version released last year.
The main new feature brought by the latest version of the software is the support for online and offline dictionaries. In case your Internet connectivity is lost or you’re in an area where you just can’t go online, you have the possibility to continue your work in the offline mode.
Other enhancements include single click activation from any application, support for dictionaries and glossaries in 75 languages, text translation in 33 languages, access to premium dictionaries from Larousse, Oxford, Merriam Webster, Britannica, Duden, Pons, Langenscheidt and others, as well as access to more than 1,400 free dictionaries and glossaries like Wikipedia in no less than 21 languages, plus built-in spell checker providing short definitions, and localization for French, Italian, German, Spanish and Portuguese.
System requirements for running Babylon include Mac OS X v.10.5 “Leopard” or later, Admin permission with user and password for installation, and online connectivity.
Users of the Mac OS X can download the new version from the official website, choosing the Babylon 2008 Mac for $89, the Babylon Mac Parallel for $119, or the CD version of Babylon 2008 Mac for $99.
If you are already using the previous version of the software, you can upgrade for free.
