N275GTX Lightning is a new graphic card launched today by MSI, following the success of the first model that broke the record of 1.1GHz GPU clock, which is MSI N260GTX, included in the same Lightning series.
The new graphic card features Military-grade components, 1792MB GDDR3 memory, 10 phase PWM, Twin Frozr II thermal design with the SuperPipe technology, and different overclocking functions.
MSI describes it as even better than GeForce GTX 285 when it comes to performance.
Military-grade elements used to build the new card include Hi-c CAP, Solid State Choke and All Solid CAP, each of these meeting the temperature requirements of the US Department of Defense. While Hi-c CAP uses Tantalum, a rare metal type of high stability also used in NASA satellites, the Solid State Choke doesn’t produce high-frequency vibration buzz noise under 100% full load.
The solid capacitors resist in high temperatures and under full load, reaching 10 years of lifespan.
N275GTX Lightning has the Twin Frozr thermal design characterized by the award-winning dual-fan cooling system that increases cooling efficiency and overcloking up to 800MHz. It features two 8-cm large fans, five heatpipes and high-density fins that dissipate the heat from the graphic processing unit, memory and power module.
To adjust the power phases automatically, the card comes with the Active Phase Switching technology. It increases power efficiency with up to 93%. The user can check the blue, green and red LED lights located on the back of the card, to know when the load status is medium, low or high.
Other specifications include NVIDIA GeForce GTX 275, 700MHz GPU clock, 2300MHz memory clock, 1792MB GDDR3 (0.8ns) memory size, V-Check Points for GPU and memory voltage measurement, and the Lightning Afterburner tool for overvoltage and overclocking in Windows-based PCs.
