Monopoly City Streets is a new online game that promises to bring lots of fun among fans of the traditional Monopoly board game.
It was launched in collaboration with Hasbro and can be played right on the Google maps, allowing you to create and trade properties with other players.
The online game started yesterday and will last only four months, functioning like a competition, during which you’ll be provided with enough tools to get ownership of real streets and build your own city.
If you are at least 13 years old you are invited to use Google SketchUp to create impressive 3D buildings and upload the project to the Google 3D Warehouse to enter the competition by September 27.
This way you get the chance to win a Google SketchUp Pro 7 license worth $495, while the next two entrants will see their projects used in Monopoly City Streets.
The Google SketchUp is free to download for Windows and Mac systems and to learn how to build 3D models you have to watch the video tutorials on YouTube. Next, you have to select Share Model in Google SketchUp and upload your building to the Google 3D Warehouse, having a Google account already and adding the monopolycompetition09 tag in the window. Also, the Monopoly City Streets blog advises you to make sure you checked the “Allow 3D Warehouse users to contact me about this model”, so that you can be contacted later in case you won.
The competition winners will be chosen on September 30 by the juries and notified, while the public announcement will be made on October 6.
