It’s very convenient that today we can find various Bluetooth-enabled devices designed to make out lives easier, eliminating the annoying wires from our office desks and enabling more freedom of movement. Still, there’s one problem that needs a solution – even if Bluetooth receivers support connectivity to multiple device types, they work one at a time. In order to use all simultaneously you have to connect several Bluetooth receivers to your computer’s USB ports and, as systems don’t provide enough ports, you’d have to get an USB hub.
Logitech has just introduced a new type of receiver called Logitech Unifying receiver, and several enabled peripherals, including mice and keyboards, which allow you to use up to six mice and keyboards simultaneously via the same Bluetooth receiver.
According to Logitech, to connect the first mouse or keyboard, you need to plug in the tiny receiver, which will be detected automatically, and then install the Unifying software to set up additional devices.
The Logitech Advanced 2.4 GHz wireless technology is secure and reliable, featuring fast data transmission, no delays and 128-bit AES encryption.
The first peripherals with support for this connectivity are the Logitech Wireless Keyboard K340, Logitech Wireless Keyboard K350, the Logitech Wireless Mouse M505 and Logitech Marathon Mouse M705.
The two keyboards provide a comfortable design and up to three years of battery life.
Logitech Marathon Mouse M705 features hyper-fast scrolling, laser tracking, right-hand support and three years of battery life, while Logitech Wireless Mouse M505 has an ambidextrous design, laser technology and enables up to 15 months of battery life.
The keyboard models will be available in stores in the United States and Europe starting next month, retailing for $59.99 and $49.99 respectively, while the high-end mice will come out later this month and in early 2010, respectively, retailing for $49.99 and $69.99.
