One of the most popular anti-virus solutions among computer users, Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009, won a VB100 award from Virus Bulletin, after the testing on Windows Vista Business Edition.
According to the report published this month by Virus Bulletin, KAV 2009 proved great results in detecting malware, scoring high marks for its proactive protection. It neutralized all of the viruses in the Wildlist collection, 97% of the Trojans and 99.9% of the polymorphic viruses. More than that, the anti-virus software didn’t generate any false positive alarms during tests.
There were 37 anti-virus software solutions participating in the test done on the Windows Vista Business Edition SP2 X32 system.
The 2009 version of the Kasperski Lab’s software is focused on preventing the program’s rights from accessing the computer resources.
The latest version of the software is Kasperky Anti-Virus 2010, available for $39.95 in 1-PC license for one year, featuring real-time file/web pages/e-messages scanning, identity theft protection, link color coding, disabling of links to dangerous sites, suspicious program blocking, protection against computer hijacking, self-protection against malware, and updates for always-on protection.
New features include the Kasperski Toolbar for web browsers, secure Virtual Keyboard, Urgent Detection System, improved proactive protection from zero-day attacks, and the Game Mode that allows you to continue playing games by suspending alerts, updates and scanning.
