Kasperski Lab has released three new security solutions for public tests, destined to Windows-based workstations and servers.
The Release Candidates allow specialists install and test the new security features before the final launch, which will happen sometime in autumn. In order to download the software packages, access documentation files and send their feedback, administrators have to register on the Public Testing Portal.
Kasperski also announced the award program requiring sending test scenarios and additional feedback.
The new products made available for testing are: Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations Maintenance Pack 4, Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers Maintenance Pack 4 and Kaspersky Administration Kit 8.0.
New features of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 MP4 include increased protection via a new engine, the possibility to control USB devices connected to the client, and client firewall for computers in IPv6 networks.
Performance enhancements include a faster and less resource-intensive engine and fewer reboots required for updating MP4 components, while the new platform supports Microsoft Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2.
Kaspersky Administration Kit 8.0 protects the network as soon as it’s installed and features 1-click deployment, native GPO-based deployment support, one-step removal of third-party protection solutions, less customization required for default settings, automatic license management, customizable dashboards for permanent system health monitoring, easier access for beginners, more advanced configuration options for experts, and an enhanced user interface.
In addition, the software supports tens of thousands of clients per Administration Server and enables update verification before their distribution across the network.
