Today, the developers enrolled in the iPhone Developer Program received an email that said:
“iPhone SDK 3.1 beta and iPhone OS 3.1 beta are now posted to the iPhone Dev Center. These versions are for development and testing only and should be installed on devices dedicated to iPhone OS 3.1 beta software development. Please read the iPhone OS Pre-Install Advisory and the iPhone SDK 3.1 beta release notes before downloading and installingUse the Apple Bug Reporter if you discover compatibility or functionality issues while testing with the iPhone OS 3.1 beta release.”
One of the changes in IPhone OS3.1 beta is that you have a “Save a Copy” option For IPhone 3G S. If you want to edit a film, now you can first save a copy of the original movie. Also MMS function for AT&T carrier is activated, but is not fully functional.
Warning: if your device is unlocked using ultrasn0w’s software DO NOT UPGRADE because you will lock your IPhone. You should wait until version 3.1 will be final and then another ultrasn0w software will be released.
If you want to test IPhone OS 3.1 enroll in “The iPhone Developer Program” which provides a complete and integrated process for developing, debugging, and distributing your free, commercial, or in-house applications for iPhone and iPod touch. The registration fee is 99 dollars for the standard program and 299 for the enterprise one.
