Soon you’ll be able to take your laptop and your cell phone in the bathroom and continue your work, or answer phone calls, while taking a shower. This will be possible thanks to the innovative technology called Golden Shellback, developed by HzO. It consists of a molecular coating process that protects electronic devices against damages produced by humidity and water, which is the main problem that causes devices to stop functioning.
ZAGG, the developer of the well known invisibleSHIELD indestructible screen protector for mobile handsets, announced the agreement with HzO to have exclusive marketing rights over the Golden Shellback technology, which is now known as HzO.
According to its developer, HzO creates a vacuum deposited film with water-repellent and anti-corrosion properties that also is nonflammable, having low toxicity. The coating is transparent.
ZAGG announced that it will sublicense this technology to customer electronics manufacturers worldwide and will reach customers during next year for a starting price of $39.
“HzO is a game changing technology and the next logical step for ZAGG,” said Robert G. Pedersen II, President and CEO of ZAGG. “Our core competency is protecting the exterior of gadgets, and this now allows us to also provide protection to the inside of the device. The total solution provided by HzO and the invisibleSHIELD aligns perfectly with the brand identification for ZAGG.”
