HP ProBook 5310m Almost as Thin as MacBook Air

HP describes its new ProBook 5310m notebook as the world’s thinnest, measuring only 0.9 inches in thickness, but if we take a look at Apple MacBook Air’s specifications, we’ll discover that it’s even thinner, at 0.76 inches, both models having a 13.3-inch display. Still, the new laptop from HP can be considered one of the world’s thinnest and comes in a stylish design weighing only 3.7 pounds, 0.7 pounds more than Apple’s MacBook Air.

HP ProBook 5310m is a full-features laptop optimized for performance and mobility, while being available for an affordable price.
Mobile professionals can get their hands on a sleek model featuring LED high definition display, a low-voltage Intel Core 2 Duo SP9300 processor to increase the lithium-polymer battery life up to seven hours, the HP QuickWeb for direct web access when the computer is shut down, the HP QuickLook3 for easy access to emails, calendar and contacts without booting the computer, and the HP Mobile Broadband with the HP Connection Manager 3.0.

Later this year, HP will offer the 6-cell battery alternative for users who need even more hours of operating time.
Currently, HP provides it’s thinnest notebook for a starting price of $699 with the Intel Celeron dual core processor, while the model powered by the Intel Core 2 Duo is available for $899. Both versions run on the Windows Vista operating system and the first region where you can find it is Asia-Pacific. The rest of the world will receive it starting October 22, but with Microsoft Windows 7 pre-installed.
