If you read the latest news in technology every day I guess you are already used with Garmin releasing new navigation solutions pretty often lately.
Today the leader in satellite navigation introduced a new device specifically created for BMW motorcycles.
BMW Motorrad Navigator IV is a GPS navigator based on the Garmin zumo 660 model and is the result of the collaboration between Garmin and BMW. The two companies wanted to provide riders with voice-enabled turn-by-turn directions, allowing them to concentrate on the road at the same time.
The new navigator keeps Garmin technologies and adds BMW-specific elements such as the BMW dealer database, a customized 4-button mount, audio features as well some Bluetooth capabilities.
BMW Motorrad Navigator IV has a 4.3-inch glove-friendly touchscreen display, preloaded street maps, millions of points of interest including restaurants, ATMs, gas stations, hotels and street addresses, as well as the capability of calculating the best route to your destination, guiding you with voice and turn-by-turn directions. This capability is also supported by Bluetooth-enabled helmets.
More than that, the navigator features a durable construction, being waterproof, vibration-resistant, and can withstand fuel sprays as well as UV rays.
In addition to the access to speed, altitude, heading and fuel gauge information, you have the possibility to share rides with other users of this navigator model via Bluetooth, and keep trip logs. You also can go online on Google or MapQuest and plan or send routes and points of interest to your device.
BMW Motorrad Navigator IV will be out in Q3 and available via authorized BMW Motorrad retailers in Europe and North America.
We can’t tell you the retail price yet, but the model which the Navigator IV is based on, Garmin zumo 660, sells for $799.99.
