Garmin-Asus nuvifone G60 and M20 Available in Asia in August

Finally Garmin-Asus announces a release date for its highly-anticipated nüvifone G60 and nüvifone M20 smartphones. By the end of next month, the two handsets will be available in Asia, in Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Thailand.

Garmin-Asus nüvifone G60 and nüvifone M20 are advanced navigation handsets providing location-based services accessible via an intuitive touchscreen interface, which includes three of the most useful icons: Call, Search and View Map.
They pre-load maps of Eastern and Western Europe, North America, or regions in Asia-Pacific, and enable turn-by-turn voice directions to million of places not included in the data plan.

In order to provide these navigation functions, the handsets use GPS receivers with hotfix. In addition, they feature Assisted-GPS, access to millions of points of interest like restaurants, hotels and even street addresses, route recalculations, latitude and longitude coordinates, and location cues to know where exactly you are in case you’re lost and can’t find your way home.

Garmin-Asus nüvifone G60 and M20 support 3.5G Internet speeds, email, Wi-Fi for a laptop-like experience, Bluetooth, full HTML web browsing, and built-in accelerometer sensors for auto-rotate to enable the landscape mode for wider views.
Besides the millions of points of interest, the handsets include other services like flight status, weather, gas prices, movie times, local events and Ciao!.

The built-in digital camera of 3MP allows you to capture high-resolution photos and you also have the possibility to add location data to each of your pictures, so you can remember at a later time where they were taken.

Specifications of the nüvifone G60 that differentiate it from the second model are: quad-band support, 3.6Mbps Internet transfer speeds, Linux closed platform, a 3.55-inch anti-glare resistive screen, HTML browser based on the Webkit platform, and up to 4 hours of continuous talk time.
nüvifone M20 is a tri-band handset featuring up to 7.2Mbps transfer speeds, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system, a 2.8-inch TFT display, Push/Enterprise in addition to POP3/IMAP4/SMTP supported by the G60 model, Opera web browser, Instant Messaging, MMS, and up to 3.5 hours of continuous talk time.
