Friendster to Open Gift Shop With Virtual Gifts Within a few Weeks

Two weeks ago, Friendster announced the partnership with the MOL Access Portal Berhad payments provider to launch the Friendster Wallet. This micro-payment method supports pre-paid cards, online and mobile payments, as well as credit card payments.
Friendster introduced it to enable easy-to-use payments for its upcoming services, such as virtual gifts, games and different goods.
MOL takes care of various payment capabilities, inclusing transaction management and fraud management.

More recently, the social networking site launched the first two services supporting the Friendster Wallet. The Friendster Gift Shop allows users to purchase and send gifts to other users, and is accessible via the Gifts button located in the header navigation bar. If you are a Friendster member you have the possibility to check the virtual birthday gifts, greeting gifts, collectibles, premium gifts, seasonal gifts, romance gifts and thank you gifts.
At the moment, you can use your Friendster Chips to buy gifts, but after a few weeks you’ll be able to get Friendster Coins and use them to purchase gifts. $1 US is equal to 1,000 Friendster Coins, and you can find gifts at prices between 200 and 500 Coins.
In addition, you can add a personal message to the gifts you send.

“Giving gifts on Friendster will be the first time many of our users buy and give gifts online,” said Ben Dunn, vice president, Philippines and global head of brand experience at Friendster. “We’re excited to be part of that experience for so many as they use our network to reach out to friends and family locally and globally in a special way.”
