The five new cell phones launched by Nokia today will be available first for Indonesian customers looking for an affordable handset pre-loaded with various applications and capabilities intended to improve their mobile communication experience.
In December, the five models will all support the Nokia Life Tools service recently introduced in India with with Agriculture, Education and Entertainment content as a result of the collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, the Center of Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics, Synovate and others.
The Agriculture service is meant to deliver various agriculture information, news, weather forecasts, tips and prices, while the Education service comes with General Knowledge, Learn English and Test Preparation that help customers learn the language fundamentals.
The Entertainment service brings news, comics, music, astrology, jokes, movie news, as well as reviews.
There will be a total of eleven cell phones featuring the Nokia Life Tools.
The new Nokia handsets and their starting prices are: Nokia 1280 at EUR 20, Nokia 1616 at EUR 24, Nokia 1800 at EUR 26, Nokia 2220 slide at EUR 45 and Nokia 2690 at EUR 54.
The first three models feature built-in FM radio functionality, flashlight, prepaid tracker, up to 22 days of standby time, dust-resistant keypad and scratch-resistant cover.
Nokia 2200 slide and Nokia 2690 have Ovi Mail, FM radio, GPRS, MMS, VGA camera, 1,000 contact entries in the phone book, Bluetooth wireless transfers and up to 20 days of standby time.
