The 911 Medical ID is maybe one of the most innovative products introduced this year. It comes in 1GB or 2Gb capacity with password protection for the stored data, which the user can backup for free on a website, and also updates automatically.

RIM Introduces BlackBerry Curve 8530 at Verizon Wireless

On November 20, Verizon Wireless will launch the BlackBerry Curve 8530 smartphone model having the following key features: high-speed 3G connectivity for on-the-phone Internet access, built-in Wi-Fi module for connecting to the Internet in hot spots, a touch-sensitive trackpad for easy navigation through the menus, and dedicated media keys to simplify navigation even more.

RIM’s new smartphone is a slim business handset coming in Smoky Violet and Black with tactile full QWERTY keyboard for intensive texting while on the go, 256 MB of flash memory, a 528-MHz processor, voice-activated dialing, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS functionality with support for image geo-tagging and for the VZ Navigator service from Verizon Wireless, and a built-in 2MP camera with zoom and video recording capability. In addition, it comes with advanced media player controls for pictures, music and videos, a 3.5-mm stereo headphone jack, the BlackBerry Media Synch for synchronizing audio files between the handset and the computer, and the BlackBerry App World access with third-party applications categorized on games, social networking, news, weather, productivity and others.

LaCie Launches Desktop and Mobile Hard Drives Designed by Philippe Starck

LaCie introduced two new designer external hard drives, this time created by the famous Philippe Starck. Called the LaCie Starck Mobile Hard Drive and the LaCie Starck Mobile Hard Drive, the devices feature a touch-sensing surface through which the user can control applications with a tap of a finger. He/she also can customize which application to open with the touch.

The desktop hard drive is covered in aluminum to make it lightweight as well as appealing and durable. The material and the design protect the stored data against accidental shocks, as well as overheating.
The status LED shaped like the signature symbol of Starck indicates the drive’s activity. It turns orange or green.
A built-in USB cable can be used for computer connectivity, while LaCie Backup Assistant and LaCie Desktop Manager are two software included to allow users backup data, format the drive, and customize the hard drive.

The desktop hard drive is available in 1TB and 2TB capacities for $129.99, while the mobile version provides 320GB or 500GB of storage for $99.99.

The HTC HD2 Windows Phone Releases in Europe and Taiwan

HTC HD2 is finally available for purchase, according to the latest press release from the HTC Corporation, but you can find it only in Europe and Taiwan at the moment. HTC promises to bring the high-end cell phone in the United States at the beginning of the next year.
This is a Windows phone, as it runs on Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional, delivering many applications for both mobile entertainment and productivity.

HTC says this is the first cell phone running on Windows and featuring the HTC Sense with proximity sensor for automatic turn-off, G-Sensor, and light sensor for automatic screen brightness adjustment.
The handset also features 3G broadband connectivity support, Wi-Fi, a 4.3-inch large capacitive touchscreen display, 1Ghz Snapdragon mobile processor from Qualcomm, instant updates on active communications such as incoming calls, text messages, social status update, or new emails, as well as HTC Peep – the Windows-based Twitter version.

As HTC HD2 is a Windows phone, it pre-loads the Microsoft Office suite, Windows Media Player, Microsoft Exchange, the My Phone service for automatic backup and synchronization of files, and support for applications downloaded from the Windows Marketplace for Mobile.

The handset also has a built-in high-resolution camera of 5 MP with autofocus and dual-LED flash, microSD memory card slot, Opera Mobile browser, Bluetooth 2.1 with Enhanced Data Rate, FM Radio, internal GPS antenna, and up to 380 minutes of talk time.

There is no word on price.

Samsung Mythic and Samsung Flight to be Available at AT&T in November

Two new handsets were just announced by Samsung as featuring full touchscreen input and a slider design, respectively, named Samsung Mythic and Samsung Flight, both provided via AT&T in the United States with entertainment and social capabilities.

Samsung Mythic has a 3.3-inch touchscreen display and the TouchWiz user interface that support dragging and dropping of widgets right on the home screen, in addition to the AT&T Mobile TV subscription-based service, access to the most popular social networking sites, full HTML web browsing, virtual QWERTY keyboard, built-in 3.2MP camera, mobile email, instant messaging, AT&T Navigator, AT&T Mobile Music, and Bluetooth.

The subscription-based mobile TV service costs $9.99 per month and enables access to content from CBS Mobile, CNN Mobile, CNBC, ESPN Mobile TV, COMEDY CENTRAL, FOX News, FOX Mobile, MSNBC, NBC 2Go, MTV, Nickelodeon and Crackle.

Samsung Flight on the other hand comes in red or silver with a sliding physical QWERTY keyboard, touchscreen and lots of features like instant messaging, mobile email, the AT&T Social Net, built-in 2 MP camera, full HTML browser, AT&T Navigator support, AT&T Mobile Music with Napster Mobile and eMsuic Mobile, as well as AT&T Video Share, and stereo Bluetooth.

Samsung Mythic will be available at AT&T for a price of $199.99 in addition to the mail-in rebate, while Samsung Flight will be offered for $99.99 after the mail-in rebate, starting November 8.

Lexmark Interact Wireless Printer Available at the Apple Store

Lexmark made available for purchase the high-end customer inkjet printer called Interact, which was announced last month.
Interact seems to be a great all-in-one printer as it features touchscreen input and wireless connectivity, being one of the eight wireless all-in-ones prepared for release by Lexmark.
It is available at the online Apple Store and at the Apple Retail Store powered by the Vizix printing technology and the touchscreen technology from SmartSolutions. It’s baked by a 3-year warranty and sells for $199.

Interact features photo printing directly from your ipod or iPhone via the LexPrint App that you can get from the Apple App Store to print photos wirelessly. In addition, the MobileMe SmartSolution allows users access photos via the built-in 4.3-inch touchscreen LCD display, while Apple News RSS feeds provide the latest news on the printer.
The wireless standard is N, which enables the highest transfer speeds, while WPS provides a simple setup done wirelessly.

Interact prints 33 pages per minute in black, 30 pages per minute in color, or 4 x 6 photos in 24 seconds. To save energy, it features two-side printing and the EcoMode.
In addition, it copies at up to 25 cpm speed and scans pages of up to 8.5 x 11.7 inches at 1200 x 2400 dpi.
The all-in-one printer measures 431 x 525 x 242 mm and weighs 7.5 Kg.

Toshiba Announces new Mobile HDD Lines

Toshiba announced the release of several hard disk drive options for mobile computers so that users can choose the right storage capacity and performance they need.
The new 1.8-inch SATA hard disk drives are meant to increase performance and increase battery life in notebook used for various mobile computing applications. These are available with 5400 rpm and 320 GB capacity, and 4200 rpm with 120 GB storage capacity.

Toshiba also announced that its MKxx33GSG series brings hard disk drives of 160 GB, 250 GB and 320 GB capacities using 42% less power while enabling 5400 rpm from a 2.5-inch form factor.
The MK1235GSL comes in 120 GB and is promoted as the most energy-efficient hard disk drive of its kind. It has a low profile of only 5 millimeters.

The company’s 1.8-inch HDDs support up to 1,500 Gs shock while not in operation and 500 Gs while in operation.
Specifications of the MKxx33GSG series include 16MB cache buffer, 830 Mb/s transfer rates and enough space for storing up to 90,000 digital pictures, 84,000 music files, or 260 videos on the 320 GB version.

“Toshiba 1.8-inch HDDs provide a compelling solution for any application that demands extreme mobility along with the ability to reliably and quietly store large amounts of user content,” said Maciek Brzeski, vice president of marketing at Toshiba Storage Device Division. “As the market demands smaller devices, manufacturers can take advantage of the 1.8-inch form factor’s small footprint, low power consumption, light weight, proven durability and volume manufacturability.”

EA Sports to Release Madden Ultimate Team Game Mode in January

Madden Ultimate Team is a new game mode introduced by EA Sports for the Madden NFL 10 video game on the PlayStation 3 gaming system and on the Xbox 360. This strategic game mode allows players to collect virtual cards with NFL starts, stadiums, head coaches and other elements, in order to have more possibilities to build teams.
Madden NFL 10’s fans probably already know that the award-winning game had a real success with more than 45 million games played on the two gaming consoles since August 14 this year, the date on which it was launched. There are two million online active users.

In the new game mode they can get up to nine card types via the bronze, silver, gold and platinum virtual cards available and access an endless series of options for customization. Players are in charge with controlling every element, starting with the team playbook and ending with the uniforms.
They can earn coins to use them for buying card packs either via the field performance, the auction book or the in-game store. Some packs contain legendary players such as the 1999 Vikings Randy Moss, or the 1995 Packers Brett Favre.

EA Sports will make the E-rated Madden Ultimate Team available for free in January next year.
