Matrox MXO2 Supports Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 4.2 on Mac

MXO2 LE, Matrox MXO2 Mini, MXO2 and MXO2 Rack now support Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 4.2 on the Mac, as Matrox announced in its latest press release.
Among the key features of Matrox MXO2 is the support for MacBook Pro computers powered by the Intel processing technology, Mac Pro and the Apple Xserve systems, as well as a light weight of 1600 grams, or 3 1/2 lbs. Matrox MXO2 can be carried inside a laptop bag, as it measures 330 x 241 x 51 mm, while it can run on the AC adapter or off a field battery. It comes with HD/SD SDI, HD/SD analog component, Y/C, as well as composite inputs and outputs. In addition, it provides SD analog black burst, or HD tri-level sync through the Genlock, and has 10-bit HDMI input, output and monitor function with calibration controls such as the blue-only.

Other features include 10-bit real-time hardware up, down and cross conversion on output and capture, five simultaneous video output selectable by the user, which includes HD and/or SD on HDMI, analog and SDI, the capability to capture different codecs such as 10-bit uncompressed HD and SD and DVCPRO HD, support for XDCAM, XDCAM HD, XDCAM EX, P2 and P2HD, plus RED workflow support and support for Final Cut Pro, Apple Color, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects and V-out-enabled QuickTime applications.

Create an iPhone Worm and You’ll get a job

Not long after spreading the world’s first iPhone worm, Ashley Towns got hired by Mogeneration, an iPhone application developer from Australia. Of course security experts don’t have a good impression about that, because they think this encourages others to do the same thing as Ashley Towns did, but the 21-year old student not only shows no remorse about infecting so many iPhones, but feels proud about getting the job and tweets about it saying that he’s collaborating with one of Australia’s leading iPhone development companies.

If you haven’t heard of ikee yet, let me tell you that this worm can affect only jailbroken iPhones using the default password “alpine”. It spreads through the contacts lists where it identifies other jailbroken handsets. What is does is change the default wallpaper with an image of Rick Ashley, the singer of “Never Gonna Give you up”, displaying the message “ikee is never gonna give you up”.

“Don’t get me wrong. I don’t think virus writers shouldn’t be allowed to rehabilitate and do something worthwhile with their lives,” said Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant at Sophos in a blog post. “But it jars with me that Towns has shown no regret for what he did, and that his utterly irresponsible behaviour appears to have been rewarded. Will Towns be offering a token $5 compensation to all those he infected for the inconvenience he caused? I doubt it.”

The DeskBook Pro Portable Docking Station for PC and Mac

DeskBook Pro is a portable docking station developed by Zemno, a company specialized in developing computer peripherals for both personal computers and Apple systems. Its new docking station is the first to support multiple connections to hard disk drives, peripherals and batteries. The technology behind the system is ModBay, which was introduced by this new portable device.
It allows you to connect two hard drives at a time, or combining a peripherals device with a battery and a hard drive.
There are 16 input and output connections available.

DeskBook Pro features seven USB ports, three FireWire 800 ports, one FireWire 400 port, one DVI out, one Ethernet port, one ESATA data connection, one ESATA power connection, one audio stereo input, one audio stereo output, one flash card reader and two ModBays.
The system works with Mac and PC portable computers of up to 15 inches and is available for pre-orders at Zemno at a suggested retail price of $499.99, with shipping set to start in January 2010.

iOKi Lets you Record Your Voice Over Karaoke Songs via iPhone and iPod touch

gridMobi has just introduced a new iPhone application that enables a karaoke-like experience with Lady Gaga’s songs and not only.
The new application is called iOKi and is available for download at the iTunes App store for US users at a price of $4.99. It allows you to select a song from the list and play it with the possibility to see the lyrics on the display and record your own voice over the negative.

iOKi is available for both iPhone and iPod touch and you can purchase songs in karaoke style via the application, for $1.99 per song, or sing the five pre-loaded tracks of Lady Gaga, including Bad Romance from the Fame Monster album.
You can select a song by artist, genre, era, song title, gender or album title. The application’s interface is available in English, Korean, Japanese and Chinese.

In addition to the karaoke songs you can see slideshows with images with Lady Gaga displayed behind the lyrics and use the automatic linking to your Twitter account, which lets your friends know when and what you’re performing. Another thing you can do is send your recordings to friends via email.

The iOKi application was developed by gridMobi in collaboration with Lady Gaga.

New iPhone Malicious Worm Targets ING Customers With Online Banking

Remember the world’s first iPhone worm created by 21-year old Ashley Towns, which affects jailbroken iPhones by changing the default wallpaper with one of Rick Ashley’s, while spreading through the contacts list? It seems that ikee was nothing compared to this new worm reported by F-Secure, the provider of various security tools for your computer files, Internet access and mobile handset.

This time things get more serious, being about a malicious iPhone worm that steals information from the handset. It works like ikee by targeting only jailbroken iPhones with SSH installed and the default password unchanged. F-Secure explains that it has botnet functionality and connects to an online center of command and control located at the IP address 92.61.38.16, which is in Lituania.
The security company promised to offer more information on this as soon as they finish the full analysis.

In the mean time, BBC News provided more details about this issue and we learned that the second iPhone worm is targeting users in the Netherlands who use Internet banking services via ING. What it practically does is redirecting ING’s customers to a web page displaying a login screen.
The best advise is: If you have a jailbroken iPhone change the default password “alpine” immediately.

Meet the Creator of the First iPhone Worm

Yesterday I was telling you the first details made public about the so-called world’s first worm designed to self-replicate through your iPhone’s contacts list. The case was reported by Australian iPhone owners only, who complained about their default wallpaper suddenly changing into a picture of Rick Ashley, the singer whose song called Never Gonna Give You Up hit the first position in Billboard Hot 100.
The information about the worm was published on the Sophos blog and now we can tell your more about the ikee worm and who created it.

The guy, a 21-year old student from Australia, answered to several questions in an interview offered to ABC News, after he was contacted via his Twitter account.
Apparently, Ashley Towns doesn’t know why he spread the worm, if there are any laws he could have broken, or how many iPhones could have been infected after he alone spread the worm to about 100 handsets. After reading his answers in the interview anyone could conclude that he has no remorse for what he did, while he doesn’t even try to apologize.

Still, he advises users of jailbroken iPhones, which are the only vulnerable to this worm, to change the default password. When he was asked if this is the first iPhone virus, with the same superior attitude he highlighted that this is not only the first iPhone virus ever created, but also the first virus that spreads from phone to phone.
The good part is that he tries to teach users how to remove the virus. This can be done by changing the password of the handset and deleting some files.

First Worm That Targets iPhones

Well, ikee is not only the first worm that targets iPhones, but it seems to be also very hard to get rid of, this according to Sophos, the UK-based company providing security solutions worldwide.
The first complaints appeared this week-end, when Australian iPhone users have met ikee, the worm that practically replaces the handset’s wallpaper set by default, with a photo of Rick Ashley.
If this doesn’t ring a bell, let me tell you that last year many people were tricked on the Internet to click on links promising to lead them to some page of their interest, but which were sending them to the same “Never Gonna Give You Up” music video. The hit by Rick Ashley was one of the hits reaching the first place in the Billboard Hot 100.

Now the Rick Ashley problem comes back in the shape of this funny iPhone worm that shows the singer’s picture along with the text “ikee is never gonna give you up”. Sophos says the worm is difficult to remove from the infected handset, but highlights the fact that only jailbroken iPhones are vulnerable to ikee.
Being a worm, ikee spreads by checking the handset’s contact list for other jailbroken iPhones and sends itself to them. Affected phones are those with the Unix software SSH, but without the default password “alpine” changed.
It’s strange, but the iPhone worm’s presence wasn’t reported outside Australia yet.

Lexmark made available for purchase the high-end customer inkjet printer called Interact, which was announced last month.
Interact seems to be a great all-in-one printer as it features touchscreen input and wireless connectivity, being one of the eight wireless all-in-ones prepared for release by Lexmark.
It is available at the online Apple Store and at the Apple Retail Store powered by the Vizix printing technology and the touchscreen technology from SmartSolutions. It’s baked by a 3-year warranty and sells for $199.

Interact features photo printing directly from your ipod or iPhone via the LexPrint App that you can get from the Apple App Store to print photos wirelessly. In addition, the MobileMe SmartSolution allows users access photos via the built-in 4.3-inch touchscreen LCD display, while Apple News RSS feeds provide the latest news on the printer.
The wireless standard is N, which enables the highest transfer speeds, while WPS provides a simple setup done wirelessly.

Interact prints 33 pages per minute in black, 30 pages per minute in color, or 4 x 6 photos in 24 seconds. To save energy, it features two-side printing and the EcoMode.

Coming from Primera Technology, a software developer focused on providing CD, DVD and Blu-ray disc publishing solutions, the PTPublisher is now available for Mac computer users.
PTPublisher for Mac is described in the latest Primera press release as an easy-to-use software created to work with Mac OS 10.5 Leopard and Mac 10.6 Leopard. It allows users to print on discs and is based on the Roxio burning engine.
