The newest press release from BitDefender details the new features of BitDefender Total Security 2010, the latest complete anti-malware solution provided by the company.
Total Security versions comprise all of the security solutions found in the Antivirus and Internet Security packs, and is destined to protect home and office computers.
If you spend a significant amount of time on the Internet daily, but at the same time you need a proactive protection for your computer files and real-time scanning, the Total Security 2010 is the complete pack that covers all your security needs.
Improvements of the software include Active Virus Control, optimized scanning for faster on-demand scans, and the industry’s first usage profiles.
According to the company, the new optimized scanning feature enables faster on-demand scanning which not only completes in half the time needed by the previous version, but reduces the system load.
Active Virus Control is a new technology that monitors all running programs to detect any suspicious activity.
The new key feature of the software is Usage Profiles that allows you to choose from Typical, Parent and Gamer profiles to match your current activity.
Additional enhancements include the Simple View in the dashboard which makes it easier for inexperienced users to configure the software options, the detection and blocking of attacks using code injection, a new reporting system in the Parental Control feature set which allows parents to find out more about the web sites browsed by their children, the Application Time Control through which parents can set time intervals for specific applications that can be used by their children, and the self-service module that helps users find answers to product issues and contact the technical support directly.
BitDefender Total Security 2010 has a free 30-day trial and can be purchased with a 3-PC 1-year license for $79.95.
