AVG Technologies announced the release of a new version of its popular free anti-virus solution. Now, AVG 9 promises to deliver 50% faster scanning speed, better performance, simpler user interface and powerful identity theft protection.
The latest subscription-based anti-virus edition is available for download on the official web site, with web surfing protection technologies like the LinkScanner Active Surf-Shield, LinkScanner Search-Shield and the new Superior Phishing Protection, all working to ensure you’ll land only on secure web pages.
For emails, chat and download, AVG Anti-Virus 9 comes with the Web Shield for secure file exchange, and the E-mail Scanner that checks attachments and link inside emails.
In addition, computer users get the anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-rootkit, the Game Mode and the Update Manager.
More than that, US customers will get the Identity Theft Recovery Unit solution with support from a specialized team that will help them recover sensitive data.
The AVG Anti-Virus 9 software for $34.99 for a one-year license, or $51.99 for two years of anti-virus protection, while the free edition will be available mid-October.
