Asteroid Storm is the world’s first interactive 3D game to be played by large groups of people. It will be launched in the United Kingdom on July 10 and will offer people in 20 Vue cinemas a unique experience.
Players will have the chance to play the 3D game simultaneously, right from their seats, by putting their hands in the air and controlling the ship’s movements in an asteroid belt.
In the beginning, the captain of the immense ship tells people that the it has suffered damages and they need to help the Starship O2 get back on its course. In order to do that, players will have to control the direction of the ship from different parts of the theatre.
Until July 10 people in the UK will have the chance to play other games involving interactive floor projections, such as Wac-a-roid, where they have to stamp out asteroids.
Asteroid Storm will be followed by other cool games that will be introduced later this summer and in autumn, called Ice Age 3 3D, G-Force, Up and Toy Story 3D.
This unique 3D gaming experience is the result of the collaboration between O2 and Pearl & Dean, Tangibal Media, iO, VCCP and Agency Republic.
Vue cinemas that will offer these new games for the public include: Vue Leicester Square, Vue Bristol Cribbs Causeway, Vue Edinburgh Waterside, Vue Finchley road, London, Vue Kirkstall road, Leeds, Vue West End, AMC Manchester, AMC Birmingham and Truro Plaza.
