Have you wondered about the Apple’s sales number after the launch of the iPhone 3GS smartphone? Well, it seems that the company had a big success after introducing the latest multi-touchscreen handset model, which was sold in more than 1 million units by June 21, in only the first 3 days after the launch.
More than that, there were 6 million people who downloaded the new iPhone 3.0 software update within the first 5 days after it was made available.
Apple likes to promote the iPhone 3GS as the most powerful iPhone model featuring twice the speed of its predecessor, higher performance, much longer continuous operating time, built-in high-resolution digital camera of 3MP with autofocus, and powerful voice control among others.
On the other hand, the latest iPhone OS 3.0 software is the most advanced operating system created for a handset, bringing computer-specific functions like cut, copy and paste in or between documents, as well as several enhancements that aren’t supported by the previous model.
Besides the new range of cool features brought by iPhone 3GS, customers were also attracted by its affordable price set at $199 for the 16GB version, and at $299 for the 32GB model. These are attractive but, of course, you will have to add a new 2-year agreement with AT&T.
In order to continue keeping the iPhone 3G’s sales at the same level, Apple cut its price down to $99 for the 8GB model. Still you have to think of getting a new 2-year contract from the telecommunication company.
