In addition to the new iMacs, a faster Mac mini and the world’s first multi-touch wireless mouse, Apple announced the updated version of MacBook, which now features LED backlit display technology for clearer views in bright or low-light environments and the new multi-touch trackpad. The new MacBook laptops now enable no less than seven hours of continuous operating time from a full charge.
More than these, they were designed with a durable polycarbonate chassis, keeping the stylish metallic finish that we are all used with, while maintaining a light weight.
Apple provides them for a suggested retail price of $999 with the 13.3-inch widescreen display having a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2 GB of DDR3 SDRAM memory expandable up to 4 GB, Nvidia GeForce 9400M shared graphics, 250 GB SATA hard disk space at 5400 rpm equipped with Sudden Motion Sensor, a slot-load 8x SuperDrive optical drive with double-layer for burning CDs and DVDs, Mini DisplayPort, AirPort Extreme 802.11n wireless connectivity, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, Gigabit Ethernet, the iSight web camera integrated, two USB 2.0 ports, multi-touch trackpad and the built-in 60WHr Li-Pol battery. Included is the 60-Watt MegSafe Power Adapter.
The 4.7-pound laptop is powered by a built-in battery that supports 1,000 recharges and can be replaced for $129. It runs on the Mac OS X Snow Leopard operating system and has the iLife applications suite pre-installed. It is available now at the Apple Store.
