Advanced Micro Devices introduced the most powerful processor for desktop computers ever developed by the company. It is known as the Phenom II X4 42 Black Edition TWKR and, according to different sources including TG Daily, it will be offered in a very limited edition, consisting of just 100 chips, to the most passionate overclockers out there.
The AMD Phenom II X4 42 Black Edition TWKR processor model will be offered as free samples to certain users, but some expect to find it later on sites like eBay for very high prices.
It’s power consists of the capability of enabling extreme clock speeds, much more when compared to the Phenom models available in specialized stores.
Even if the name which includes the “42” number doesn’t make us think of any processor sequence, the model features the 45 nm Deneb core of 8MB cache and with the AM3 package, enabling 2GHz speeds by default.
It comes in a stylish wood box and is described as supporting much more voltage, scaling higher and running faster than any other processor available on the market today.
We don’t know which would be the maximum speeds the new processor can handle, but other models in the same limited category were clocked at 6.89GHz, supported by the liquid nitrogen cooling technology.
If you really, really want one of these, the only possibility to get it is to apply for on AMD’s Twitter zone.
